Springhead captivates people of all ages, who return again and again to enjoy its all year round facilities. 

A magical fusion of dramatic landscape, 18th century mill buildings, spring filled lake and magnificent gardens make Springhead, a Centre for the arts, environment and personal development; truly inspirational. The Centre nestles in a protected valley in the picturesque village of Fontmell Magna, just a few miles outside Shaftesbury, in an ‘Area of Outstanding Beauty’.

As well as being on ‘Hardy’s Trail’ and ‘Dorset’s Cycleway’, Springhead is also very close to spectacular downland which has been recognised as a ‘Site of Special Scientific Interest’. 

Managed by the charity, The Springhead Trust Ltd., the facilities are used both for residential and day visits by Schools, 6th Form Colleges and Universities for curriculum studies and bonding trips; adult groups for retreats, courses, lectures and staff training, and event planners for private functions. Most recently, Springhead is hired for weddings, after acquiring a license to hold civil marriage ceremonies on its premises.
